Joy of Giving Donation Drive (Amar Jyoti School)
As part of our commitment to fostering empathy and compassion, Ridge Valley School organized a donation trip to Amar Jyoti School, New Delhi, on 27th December, 2023. This initiative was a pivotal segment of our Joy of Giving Donation Drive, aimed at instilling a sense of social responsibility in our students from Grades VI to VIII. Amar Jyoti School is a voluntary organisation, providing comprehensive rehabilitative services to individuals with disabilities through inclusive education, medical care, vocational training, guidance, and self-employment opportunities. Our students were privileged to tour the campus, gaining insights into the specialized classrooms catering to visually impaired and hearing-impaired children. Moreover, they received a firsthand look at the vocational skill development courses offered, which serve as crucial occupational therapy for the students. The exposure to jewellery making, cutting and tailoring, art and craft, jute bag making, and pottery showcased the school’s dedication to nurturing the talents and skills of these students. The interaction between our students, teachers, and the Amar Jyoti community was truly enriching. Witnessing the resilience and determination of the students at Amar Jyoti left an indelible mark on our students’ hearts. Our students donated toys, stationary and other items to the children, contributing to their joy and adding a touch of warmth to their day. This experience has not only broadened our students’ perspectives but has also reinforced the importance of empathy and inclusivity.
