Visit to Ratangarh Farm

The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”  -Eleanor Roosevelt

With the thought of giving the students an experience and exposure away from home and school, an adventure camp was organized for Grades 3&4 to Ratangarh farms.

The children came to the school on the 23rd of February at their usual school time and left for Ratangarh farms after eating their breakfast. It was a 2 and a half hour drive from the school. The children enjoyed the journey as they saw the outskirt areas of Gurgaon with their friends.

On reaching the Ratangarh farms (around noon) the children were welcomed by the beating of the dhol. Fresh fruit juice from the home grown fruits along with snacks were arranged for them by the organizers of the Ratangarh farms. After changing into their home clothes, children went on the camel cart rides and walked around the farm. Later lunch was served after which the children took an hour of nap.

In the evening there were some team building activities, games and snacks that were planned for the children. The children were happy and excited to take part in the games. Students even danced around the bonfire tapping on their favourite music before dinner was served. Everyone changed into their night clothes and slept in their dormitories while chatting about the activities they took part in during the day.

The next day started with a sumptuous breakfast followed by a joy ride on a tractor to a neighboring cattle farm where they saw how the cows are milked and how curd and butter is formed from the milk. The children enjoyed seeing the village side as they made their journey back to the farm. On returning, students were served a light meal for their journey back to the school. The trip inculcated various skills in the students and the experience of staying in a home away from home made them want to stay longer. Students expressed their gratitude to the hosts for their hospitality and started back to school taking back memories to cherish forever.
