Dussehra Assembly

‘Everyday sunrises to give us a message that darkness will always give way to light’. Let’s follow the same natural rule and enjoy the festival of victory of ‘Good over evil’

Keeping the festive spirit alive, a special assembly on the occasion of Dussehra was conducted at RVS on 21st September 2017 by the students of Grade 4A.

India is known as a land of festivals and celebration and Dussehra is one such festival which is unique in its perception and significance.

In order to explain the theme “Dussehra”, our confident students took turns and came forward to speak a few lines on why we celebrate Dussehra.

The  students were delighted to share their learning from the festival of Dussehra in the form of a small enactment, where they represented the 10 heads of the Ravana explaining  that evils that exist within a human being such as  jealousy, hatred, ego, conflict and dishonesty etc. could be killed by satisfaction, humility, love, respect, understanding and honesty.

The students also presented a poem and a story related to the festival and highlighted that evil though be very strong, this festival teaches us the path of truthfulness. It eventually leads to inner satisfaction and eternal happiness.

The assembly presentation was then concluded by a bhajan sung in chorus by all  the children.

The school principal Ms Guneet Ohri appreciated the effort of the students and emphasized that this day is considered not only the victory of Ram but also the victory of mankind over the evils prevailing in this world.
