Ridge Valley School in collaboration with BMW organized a road safety workshop and car simulation program for children of Grades 1 to 3 on April 24, 2017 during school hours.
For the car simulation program, a road-like structure with tracks, dividers and sign boards was created in the school premises. Children played on an interactive car simulator in which they sat in the driver’s seat and explored the grown up world of roads, signs and speed. The car and bike simulators had real controls for acceleration and brakes which gave children a true hands-on experience.
Children appeared in a pre-test and a post-test on various road safety measures. An interactive session was conducted where children were explained about various traffic rules that they must remember while crossing the road or travelling with adults such as turning the engine off when the signal is red or using a foot-over bridge whenever one has to cross the road.
It was a great learning experience for the children where they learnt about the safety rules and importance of following them while enjoying to the fullest.
