The celebration of International Workers Day was held over two days at Ridge Valley School. A Special Assembly was held to mark the occasion; the students of Grade 6 highlighted the role that is played by the ‘support staff’ in their daily routine through a ‘Nukkad Natak’ and the song ‘Saathi haath badhana’. In the presence of the students and the teachers, every single member of the support staff was called and felicitated with cards and flowers made by the little ones of Nursery and KG. The bulletin board at the main reception area also portrayed the affection of the students towards their ‘didi bhaiyas’ as they clicked, decorated and displayed their photographs. The Principal Ms. Guneet Ohri welcomed each member of the support staff to a sumptuous lunch arranged by the senior students who also decorated the venue and took the responsibility of serving lemonade and lunch as also cleaning up after the event. It was heartening to see the students express their gratitude to those who help in different ways, through a presentation, games and a memento specially made for them. The big smiles on the faces of every ‘didi bhaiya’ of Ridge Valley made this gesture by the students of acknowledging and valuing the labour worthwhile.
