Saraansh- The Circle Of Life
On the 7th of November, 2015, Ridge Valley School celebrated its 6th Annual Day. The chief guest for this occasion was Lt. Gen. Rajender Singh (CEO, DLF Foundation). He inaugurated the celebration by lighting the ceremonial candles.
The show commenced with the melodious voices of the students, singing out lofty ideals etched in the school anthem. This was followed by an item staged by the tiny tots of the Pre-Primary, wherein they danced to invoke the blessings of Goddess Ambe. This was followed by Mrs. Guneet Ohri, the Principal’s Annual report, which highlighted the achievements in the past year.
The theme this year saw life and energy being propelled into an 'ethos inspiring vision’, aptly titled Saraansh- the Circle of life.
The play showcased the rich heritage and culture of India which has an intricately woven plethora of faiths, religions, and beliefs. Within a short span of an hour, the audience had travelled back into time to witness the creation of the universe, Krishna’s bal leela, etc.-
The play drew parallels from age old mythology and events of the past which have helped mould our country into what it is today!
The story line revolved around two central characters and their journey from childhood into adolescence and finally when they have children of their own. The sentiments of parents letting go and different emotions (anxiety, aggression, acceptance, friendship etc.) experienced by the children were showcased through different styles of drama; where poetry was interwoven in some scenes while the others were portrayed in the form of short skits.
The most riveting performance which drew an unceasing applause was the composition by the school Orchestra. The evening ended with the National Anthem; a noteworthy end to a memorable Annual Day.
