Rajesh Mishra, an esteemed employee of Ridge Valley School was recently in the news for all the right reasons. He performed at the Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan-2015- a scintillating programme of Indian classical music held in the Brigader Rajinder Singh Auditorium of University of Jammu. This was organized by the Director General All India Radio.
The tradition of Akashwani Sangeet Samellan started in 1954 and has completed 62 years of service to Indian classical music. The event is spread over 24 cities all over India and Jammu has got the honour of holding it twice in succession as Jammu was a venue last year also.
The vocal recital was done by Rajesh and Geetesh Mishra. They were accompanied by Ms. Ritu Mishra(his wife) on Tabla. Rajesh and Geetesh Mishra have a mellifluous voice which enraptures the audience. Their early foundation in the world of music was laid at a young age by their illustrious father, a renowned sarangi player, Pandit Mahesh Prasad Mishra in Calcutta, where he was born and brought up.
He was also recently awarded in the National Honour Award Ceremony held in Murshidabad.
